Harlie’s Angels

  • Community Focus

In 2016 we were told of a family in need. The grandparents were raising two sets of their grandchildren. The teens were living in a tiny home (glorified shed) in the yard. We came in with a group of volunteers and put electricity, heat, carpet, and drywall into this small space. We also supplied the teens with new beds, bedding, dressers, a desk and other furnishing to make it feel like a tiny home.

In 2017, the senior citizens of Castle Rock were our focus. We went to the senior center and asked what their individual needs were. The needs varied from replacing doors to lawn work. The summer of 2017, we replaced 3 doors and dug out lots of weeds and overgrown brush. We had so many volunteers ranging in age from 5 to 60. Fellowship of Christian Athletes joined us in this adventure as well. 8 senior citizens in all were helped in one way or another. This was a blessing for all involved. Another way to show it doesn’t take a lot of money to help someone out.

2018-2019  The dream of Harlie’s Hoops has begun.

Over 400 comfort bags were made and delivered to the Department of Social Services since 2013.

The beginning of December each year, we assemble 50 warm weather/hygiene bags and pass them out at the Community Meal offered at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Longview, WA

Each year we are able to adopt several families in need during the Christmas season. Our focus is centered around middle and high school teens. Each family received bags of groceries for a Christmas dinner along with presents.

This past year, we assembled a team of volunteers and we completed some very necessary repairs on a house in Cowlitz County.

The Boulevard Teen Center. In 2017, we change our mission to focus more on the teen population.
